Work in Progress..."Open Water"

 I've begun working on a new artist's book using an old book of navigation maps of the Kanawha River of West Virginia published by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1950.  A series of water-related collages will be mounted on the river map pages, perhaps interspersed with brief text.

Cocktails at the Gates of Hell


An engraving by Gustave Dore called the "Gates of Hell" makes a lovely cocktail spot for the murderous jaguar from a Diego Rivera mural, a sword-swallowing albino by Diane Arbus, and some genteel but thirsty ladies...
