A Little Bird Told Me

I am all settled into my new town and my new studio, and here is my first artist's book for 2018.  "A Little Bird Told Me" is a unique altered book created from a thin Hallmark poetry book.  White ravens have been added to the covers.  The interior was gutted and replaced with an accordion structure created by printing images from vintage snapshots onto tea bag papers, enhanced with collage.

Crows have been observing humans for thousands of years.
Oh, what secrets they could reveal!

Traci Timmons, Librarian of the Dorothy Stimson Bullitt Library at Seattle Art Museum, writes from time to time about artist's books, and she has used one of my works as her subject in a recent blog post.  She's a wonderful and thoughtful writer, and it is a GREAT pleasure to be the focus of her latest blog article.  Please visit the blog (here) and for goodness sake, get yourself over to SAM to view the outstanding Wyeth exhibit before it leaves town later this month!

Exhibition News

Two collage pieces are travelling to Kentucky this week -- never exhibited in Kentucky before, would love to go visit!  The Lexington Art League has been holding its annual figure exhibition for more than 30 years, and this year the theme is "Brutal Beauty."  I'm proud to contribute two moderately brutal paper collage pieces to the exhibition, which will be held January 26 - March 11, 2018, in Lexington Kentucky.
