Double Vision

Sabine Remy (Dusseldorf, Germany) and I frequently collaborate on collage pieces, and we have just finished our first book collaboration, called "Double Vision."

This is a slim little volume of collage and text (8"h x 6.25"w, 28 pgs), which started out as a book of Lois Wyse poetry.  It turned out quite well (she said, modestly); Sabine made a lovely video of the book and you can see the pages turned here.

Work-in-Progress: "A Blue Thread Runs Through It"

Busy working on a new artist's book about the color blue, featuring collage and embroidery and to be called A Blue Thread Runs Through It.  Here are a few images of pages in process:

"...the oldest languages had no name for the color blue."

"...and man learned to name the blueness--indigo blue, comet blue, azure blue, periwinkle, aqua, turquoise."

"But blue remains the most enigmatic and contradictory of colors."

"We say blue stands for calmness, serenity and openness, but if we are sad, we have the blues."

"A blue flame often burns the hottest..."

Off to Saginaw

Erin case has curated a collage show for the re-opening of the Counter Culture gallery in Saginaw, MI.  The exhibit includes work by 14 American collage artists and will present a wonderful variety of work from a pretty fabulous group of collagists.  I mailed off four collages a couple weeks ago (see them below)...or go to Saginaw and enjoy them all! The exhibit opens October 10th, Thanks for including me, Erin.
